TEDxNashville Community presents "Play Your Joy: Creativity and Innovation in Education," the TEDxYouth@GreaterNashville second annual event at Montgomery Bell Academy on November 19, 2011, from 11:00 am to 4:00pm.
About TED and TEDx
In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@GreaterNashville, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxYouth@GreaterNashville, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
On November 19, 2011 — Universal Children’s Day — TEDx organizers across the globe will host events for (and by) young people. These events will vary widely in size, format and theme, but they will share a common vision: inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas, empowering young leaders. Responding to this challenge, TEDxNashville Community created a Greater Nashville “Engagement Network,” led by TEDxYouth@GreaterNashville. TEDxYouth@GreaterNashville will engage current and future leaders amongst Greater Nashville area high school and college students in meaningful conversation surrounding innovative “Ideas Worth Spreading” in the TED core principles of Technology, Entertainment and Design.
